Cable routing

!
General note: All connecting cables must be routed in
such a way that there is no risk of tripping over them
or of them becoming caught up in moving parts.
Procedure:
Route all the connecting cables described in Sec-
tions 4.1 to 4.3 behind the EPS and bunch them with
a cable tie. Lay all the connecting cables so as to
permit strain-free attachment to the CRI 800 trigger
electronics (refer to Fig. 18).
i
If the VPM 844 tester set is being used on the same
test bench, the connecting cable 1 684 465 499 (to
the rotary encoder) must be routed so as to permit
strain-free attachment to the terminal unit A11 of the
VPM 844 tester set.

Software installation

5.1

Installing the system software

i
Minimum system software for UI and UP testing is
the EPS 945: Version ≥2.70.
i
Installation of the system software is described in
the program description EP-Software (order number:
1 689 989 099) in chapter 3.3 "Installation of KMA
system software EPS945".
5.2

Updating the firmware

i
The firmware update is described in the Online Help
of the EPS945 software.
Each time it is started the KMA system software EPS945
automatically checks the firmware version on the EP test
system. If an out-of-date version of the firmware is detec-
ted on the EP test system, then a status display window
containing the following message will appear:
Firmware version KMA802 out of date
-or-
Firmware version DZE800 out of date
-or-
Firmware version CRE800 out of date
In this case the firmware in question should be
updated.
