Basic Settings
Enabling and disabling audible signal
for new SMS messages
You can enable or disable the audible
signal on receipt of a text message.
Proceed as follows:
Press the MENU key.
Select the "SMS" menu.
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Settings" sub-menu.
Press the MENU key.
Choose the "SMS alarm" option.
Press the MENU key.
The setting currently selected is ticked in
the display.
To select your preferred setting press
the NAVIGATION button.
Press the MENU key.
The setting is then stored.

Naming handsets

The handsets are numbered consecutively
at the factory. You can give the handsets
names consisting of numbers and letters.
Proceed as follows:
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Set handset" menu.
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Handset name" sub-menu.
"Handset_" appears on the display. You
can now add to this name or delete the
name and enter a new name.
Press the CANCEL button to delete
letters.
Enter the preferred name, as instructed
in the section headed Writing SMS
messages from page 36 onwards.
Press the MENU key to confirm the
entry.
"Saved" appears on the display. When you
quit the menu the name you have entered
will be displayed.
In order to make an internal call,
however, you have to select the
number of the relevant handset as
before. This number is therefore
displayed after the name you have
entered.
