Setting the Base
Station

Changing the PIN number

The PIN number protects your telephone
from authorised access. The PIN number
ensures that only the handsets supplied
can be registered on your base station.
If you want to adjust the settings on the
base you need to know the PIN number.
The factory setting for the PIN is
"0000".
To change the PIN number, proceed as
follows:
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Set BS" menu.
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Change PIN" sub-menu.
Press the MENU key.
Enter the PIN using the numeric keys.
Press the MENU key.
Enter the new PIN using the numeric
keys.
"Repeat PIN" will then appear on the
display.
Enter the new PIN number again.
If the second entry for the new PIN differs
from the first then "Incorrect PIN" appears
on the display. The old PIN remains in the
memory.

Setting the Base Station

When both entries for the new PIN are the
same the word "Saved" will appear on the
display.
Make a note of the new PIN.
If you forget the PIN number you
cannot then alter this PIN or restore
the settings on the base station to
the factory settings.

Setting the dialling mode

You can change the dialling mode of your
telephone, choosing between pulse
dialling and tone dialling. Proceed as
follows:
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Set BS" menu.
Press the MENU key.
Select the "Dialling mode" sub-menu.
Press the MENU key.
Select the preferred dialling mode.
The active dialling mode is now ticked.
Press the MENU key.
