Using the Answering Machine
Enabling and disabling the answering
machine
Press 0 on the keypad to enable or
disable the answering machine.
Setting the number of rings
You can set the number of rings before
the answering machine is activated. You
have the following options:
• 2 rings
• 4 rings
• 6 rings
• 8 rings
• Economy mode.
You can switch the answering machine to
economy mode in order to save telephone
charges for remote enquiry. In this case
the answering machine will respond after
two rings if there are new messages. If
there are no new messages the answering
machine will only respond after six rings.
You can therefore tell if new messages
have been recorded without incurring the
charges for making a connection.
In order to change the option press the
# key until the required option is
announced.

Interception
You can listen in to messages while they
are recording. You can then decide if you
want to intercept the call or continue
recording.
Press the MENU key.
"Intercept?" appears on the display.
To listen in on the call press the MENU
key.
You can listen in to the message on the
handset. The call is not accepted and the
recording is continued.
To listen in to the call via the
loudspeaker press the LOUDSPEAKER
key.
To stop listening in press the HANG UP
or LOUDSPEAKER button.
Intercepting calls from the
answering machine
To intercept a call during recording of
the message press the PICK UP button.
