General safety regulations
All safety instructions are to be read tho-
roughly before using the Bosch tester and
they must be observed.
Wear gloves and goggles as contact with
the refrigerant and the UV contrast me-
dium can cause blindness and severe
injuries.
Avoid the refrigerant and UV contrast me-
dium coming into contact with the skin.
The low boiling point of the refrigerant
(approx. -30 °C) means that frostbite to
the skin can occur. In case of contact with
the skin, remove wet clothing immediately
and rinse the affected area of skin with
plenty of water.
Do not breathe in refrigerant, contrast me-
dium or oil vapors. The vapors can irritate
the eyes and the airways. If liquid refrige-
rant or UV contrast medium gets into the
eyes, rinse the eyes thoroughly with water
for 15 minutes. Then seek medical attenti-
on, even if the eyes do not hurt.
Avoid swallowing the UV contrast medium.
After swallowing, do not attempt to trigger
vomiting; drink plenty of water and seek
medical attention.

The ACS 500 is fitted with safety valves
that are used to safeguard the system.
The settings of the safety valves and the
control system may not be adjusted under
any circumstances.
Before the ACS 500 is connected to the
vehicle A/C system or to an external refri-
gerant cylinder, the valves must be closed.
Only use external refrigerant cylinders
that are fitted with safety valves and ap-
proved in accordance with the applicable
standards.
Before turning off the A/C service unit,
ensure that the individual phases are com-
plete and that all valves are closed. This
prevents refrigerant from escaping into
the environment.
Carefully disconnect filling hoses as all ho-
ses can contain pressurized refrigerant.
