General safety regulations
Do not used compressed air with the
refrigerant R134a. Some mixtures of air
and R134a are highly flammable at high
pressure. These mixtures are potentially
hazardous and can cause fires or explosi-
ons resulting in damage to property and
injury to persons.
R134a is colorless and odorless and hea-
vier than air. It expels oxygen and can
flow into lower rooms. If the refrigerant
escapes, there is a risk of suffocation in
poorly ventilated rooms or assembly pits.
The R134a refrigerant may not be used
in environments with a risk of explosion.
Fire, naked flames and smoking are prohi-
bited. No welding or soldering is allowed.
High temperatures and UV radiation can
cause R134a to chemically separate. The
resulting products cause irritating coughs
and nausea.
Robert Bosch GmbH
R134a may not be mixed with other refrige-
rants as it is recovered, recycled and used
for re-filling in the ACS 500. In this case, the
vehicle A/C system would be damaged.
The ACS 500 must always be monitored
during operation.
Work on the vehicle must be prepared and
carried out in such a way that the vehicle
refrigerant circuit is not opened (e. g. ra-
diator or engine removal)
The ACS 500 should be positioned with
all four wheels on a horizontal surface to
ensure correct operation of the scales.
Secure the ACS 500 against rolling away
using the handbrake.
The ACS 500 must always be transported
in its operating position. Never transport
the unit lying on its side as the oil can leak
out of the vacuum pump.
