Installing the remote antenna

1. Remove the protective cap for the antenna on the connection (Fig. A 4).
2. Screw antenna cable to connection and tighten hand-tight.
3. Select an installation location where a perfect signal transmission is
ensured. The antenna must point up vertically.
4. Attach the mounting bracket at the installation location of the remote
antenna.
5. Lay the antenna cable.
6. Screw the remote antenna in at the end of the antenna cable and tighten it
by hand.
5.4

Installing the EC sensor

Prerequisites:
The gas detector is installed.
If the gas detector is already switched on and an existing sensor is changed,
see "Replacing the sensor", page 51.
Install sensor:
1. Loosen the set screw (Fig. B 2).
2. Unscrew the bayonet ring (Fig. B 3).
3. Remove the dummy disk.
4. Insert the sensor (Fig. B 4) Into the opening so that the Dräger logo is
aligned with the marking on the housing (Fig. B 5).
5. Secure the sensor with the bayonet ring.
6. Tighten the set screw. Required for installation in Zone 22.
7. If necessary, attach the tag supplied with the sensor to the gas detector.
For specific information, refer to the sensor data sheet.

WARNING
Risk of explosion!
The simultaneous connection of wired power supply and battery endangers the
intrinsic safety and leads to the expiration of the explosion protection approval.
► Do not connect the wired power supply and battery at the same time.

Connecting the wired power supply

WARNING
Risk of explosion!
If the gas detector is opened in a potentially explosive dust atmosphere, an
explosion may occur.
► Do not open the gas detector in dust explosion-hazard areas. Alternatively,
declassify the dust explosion-hazard area beforehand.
Do not operate the gas detector with a DC power supply, but use a power
supply unit of protection Class II or NEC Class II instead.
The minimum supply voltage must be applied directly to the device (supply
lines are excluded).
For information on cable specifications or operational parameters, see
"Technical data", page 54.
Prerequisites:
Explosion-hazard areas: The power supply is provided via a safety barrier,
which ensures intrinsic safety of the gas detector.
Observe maximum capacity and inductance of the cable for the connection
to the safety barrier.
Dräger recommends the following safety barriers: Pepperl+Fuchs
SMART Transmitter Power Supply KFD2-STC5-Ex1 or KCD2-STC-Ex1.
Supplies:
Non-hazardous areas: Cable gland M25 x 1.5, IP66/67
Explosion-hazard areas: Ex e cable gland M25 x 1.5, IP66/67
