DISTAL ATTACHMENT LOCKING LINERS (Figure 3)
Precaution: Caution must be taken to properly tighten the attachment pin
to the fixed distal attachment. Always apply Loctite 410/411 or equivalent
compound to the threads of the Össur attachment pin (used with
Icelock) and torque to 4 Nm (3ft.lbs).
Warning: Össur does not recommend the use of pins without a flange
with locking liners (Figure 3).
Precaution: If excessive movement or product wear is detected between
the attachment pin and the distal attachment at any time, the user
should be instructed to immediately discontinue use of the device and
consult with their practitioner.
TRIMMING
The device may be trimmed to increase range of motion, or for user
preference (Figure 4). The Iceross Curve Master is specifically designed
to produce a smooth, rounded edge when trimming, minimizing the risk
of skin irritation and device tears.
Precaution: Do not cut the device below the proximal trim-lines of the
socket. Excessive trimming may reduce the suction between the device
and limb and compromise suspension.
PROSTHETIC SOCKS
If the amputee experiences insecurity or decreased contact with the
socket due to volume fluctuations one or more ICEROSS Socks can be
added to restore the socket fit.
Precaution: If volume fluctuation cannot be adequately compensated for
by this means, the socket will need to be remade to suitably reduced
dimensions.
CUSTOM SHAPE CAPTURE
Shape Capture
Due to the material properties of the device the unique shape of the limb
will be automatically captured during normal use. To accelerate shape
capture "Cold capture" or "Hot capture" techniques can be utilized.
Both techniques require a cast/scan of the residual limb with no liner and
a subsequent positive model.
Cold Capture
1. Add a protective layer to the clean positive model.
2. Apply device to positive model.
3. Leave for a minimum time of one hour.
Hot Capture
Precaution
• Direct physical contact with heating elements will permanently
damage the device, void the warranty and device should not be used
• Use heat protective gloves at all times during this process.
1. Add a protective layer to the clean dry positive model.
2. Place positive model into preheated oven at 65°C (150°F) for 60
minutes.
