SPECIFIC INFORMATION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Summary
The CAMP "Blin" is a guided type fall arrester, certified for vertical use in accordance with standard EN 353-2:2002 and
verified for horizontal/inclined use in accordance with the testing procedure CNB/P/11.075 r2. It is supplied with a
EN1891/A CAMP Iridium 10.5 mm semi-static rope, as specified in the chart A.
The chart A describes the available versions in terms of length and type of connection.
Use
Use the "Blin" device as illustrated in fig.1, observing the rope direction marked on the device (fig.1). After installing,
always conduct a locking test to verify the correct operation (fig.2).
Always check the correct closure of the connectors [8][9][11].
Always connect to an attachment point for fall arrest (A) of an EN 361 full body harness. The use of a sternal attachment
point is preferable over a dorsal one. The connection must be exclusively as shown in fig.3. Do not use different types of
connection. The connection lanyard [10] must never be detached from the fall arrest device [1]. The use of an energy
absorber is not required: the "Blin" absorbs energy through its sliding on the rope in the event of a fall.
Do not connect the device to the attachment points for suspension or for work positioning of an EN 813/ EN 358 harness.
The structural anchor point which the rope connects to must be placed above the working area and must have a minimum
resistance of 15 kN in compliance with standard EN 795. Never ascend above the anchor and avoid creating any slack on
the rope (fig.4).
Use the rope supplied assembled with the product only. If replacement is needed, use the spare ropes listed in chart A
only. The replacement procedure is shown in fig.5.
Fixing or tensioning the rope is not necessary but, to improve sliding, application of a light weight at the bottom of the rope
