FORCED CHARGE FUNCTION
In the event of a deeply discharged battery (voltage inferior to 2 V), the Batium does not start the charge and signals
it :
• The dipslay's leds rotate
• The indicators « battery voltage », « capacity » and « charging curve » are switched on.
To force the charge, press the button 2 for 5 seconds , until the Batium displays CHE (check). The charger detects a
battery with a voltage above 0.5 V (± 0,3 V).
Like other modes, this step is made of 2 phases :
1. A diagnostic phase (battery voltage analysis).
Nb : For 12 or 24 V batteries, during this phase, the Batium detects a deeply discharged battery and suggests a 6
V charge. To confirm or correct this voltage (12 or 24 V), rapidly press the button 2 (before the Batium starts the
charge) (Anomaly 6 p.13).
2. A recovery phase (voltage rises). If the Batium does not succeed in recovering the battery, it stops after 30 mi-
nutes.
The verification step (CHE) finished, the Batium starts a normal IUoU charge. For further details about the charge
process, refer to «Connections and general operations»-.
PROTECTIONS
The Batium 25-24 is protected against short-circuits and polarity reversals. It has an anti-spark feature which prevents
sparks whilst connecting the device to the battery. The device will not deliver current if there is no battery detected
(no voltage in the clamps).

BATIUM 25/24
+
The Batium has detected a polarity
reversal to the clamps.
+
The battery has suffered a deep
discharge over a long period.
The charger has detected an
abnormal mains power supply
voltage.
The machine is overheating.
Deeply discharged battery (voltage
below 2 V).
The Batium does not detect
the battery. The clamps are not
connected properly.
The Batium detects a voltage error
and suggests another selection
+
(voltage indicator flashes).
+
CAUSES
Connect the red clamp to the
positive terminal (+) and the black
clamp to the negative terminal (-)
of the battery.
Activate the « SOS Recovery » mode,
(see p7)
Wait 10 seconds. If nothing is dis-
played, try another power socket.
Use the charger in a well ventila-
ted area.
Start a forced charge, « see forced
charged section ».
Make sure that the clamps are
properly connected. Carry out the
connection again.
Select the proper voltage at least
10 seconds after the first press.
If the voltage is not rectified
within a minute, the Batium starts
the charge automatically using
the suggested voltage (flashing
indicator).
