FITTING THE BATTERIES

This monitor uses TWO 1.5 volt ALKALINE
BATTERIES.
To fi t the batteries, remove cover (B), fi gure 1, at
the back of the monitor and carefully insert the
«R-6" type batteries into the battery compart-
ment (A), fi gure 1, making sure that the battery's
polarity is correct (matching the battery's «+» ter-
minal with the «+» sign inside the battery com-
partment, and the «-» terminal with the «-»sign).
Replace the battery compartment cover.
If, after having switched the monitor on, it dis-
plays errors or merely partial segments then re-
move the batteries and wait for about 15 seconds
before reinstalling them.
Weak batteries (run down) produce a weak
digital display (poor contrast) and erroneous rea-
dings. Change them immediately.
Important. Used batteries must be deposited in
special containers, Figure 2.
If the batteries are run down or are not power-
ful enough. This symbol
monitor screen, indicating that the batteries in
the monitor have to be replaced for new ones
(alkaline).
FITTING THE ELECTRONIC
MONITOR
FITTING THE MAIN CABLE
Remove screws (T) located at the back of the
monitor, fi gure 1, or in the bag attached to the
monitor. Next, plug the main cable (K), sticking
up out of the main post (B), into socket (H) at the
back of the monitor, see fi gure 3.
FITTING THE HAND-GRIP CABLES (PULSE)
Take cable (W), sticking up out of the main post
(B), and plug it into connecter (W), coming out
of the back of the monitor (P), Figure 4. Do the
same with connector (Y), sticking up out of the
English
will appear on the
main post (B), plugging it into monitor connec-
tor (Y), Figure 4.
Next, slide the front of the monitor onto the plate
on top of the main mast (B), Figure 5, making
sure not to snag any of the wires, fi t the screws
(T) removed previously and tighten securely with
the aid of the assembly key (Ñ) Figure 6.

ELECTRONIC UNIT

To give you greater control over the exercise, the
monitor's main display screen provides a constant
real-time reading of the following functions: PUL-
SE, SPEED (revolutions per minute, km/h, mph),
TIME, ENERGY CONSUMPTION (watts or kilocalo-
ries) DISTANCE COVERED and PROGRAMS.
The screen will switch itself on automatically as
soon as you start exercising or by pressing any
key on the monitor. The monitor readout func-
tion halts whenever you stop pedalling.
THE MONITOR WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMA-
TICALLY IF THE UNIT REMAINS MOTIONLESS
FOR 4 MINUTES.
There are 4 buttons at the bottom of the monitor:
- PROGRAM: The monitor's program selection
key.
-
Up key, used to increase data input values.
-
Down key, used to decrease data input va-
lues and also the (RESET) key.
If this key is held down for more than 4 seconds,
all monitor values are reset to zero.
- SELEC: Cursor key used to select the values to
program (Time, Distance, Calories, maximum and
minimum heart rate limits, age).
Pressing the (SELEC) key for more than 2 seconds
will display RPM on the screen and we can then
go on to select rpm (revolutions per minute), km/
h (kilometres per hour) or mph (miles per hour) by
pressing the (+) or (-) keys.
WATT / CAL: Energy consumption selection key,
in WATTS or CALORIES.
