OPERATING FAuLTS

DESCRIPTION
The audio system does not operate,
and the display shows "CODE".
The audio system does not operate,
and the display shows "CD CODE".
The audio system does not operate,
and the display shows "ERROR CD".
The audio system does not operate
and the audio information is not
displayed.
The audio system does not operate but
the audio information is displayed.
No sound comes out of the left- or
right-hand speakers when using the
radio or a CD.
The sound level for traffic news bulle-
tins or news items is too low.

CAuSE
Power supply interrupted.
The audio system is still locked following
replacement of the CD changer or audio
system.
Your CD has been entered upside down,
is damaged or is not one of the formats
which can be read by the audio system.
The audio system is not switched on.
The audio system fuse has blown.
The ambient temperature is too low.
The volume is set to minimum.
Speaker short circuit.
The sound balance setting (left/right) is
incorrect.
Speaker disconnected or faulty.
The volume for news bulletins was modi-
fied when a previous bulletin was broad-
cast.

SOLuTION
Enter the security code
Contact the manufacturer's dealer who will
enter their identification code.
Eject your disc and reinsert it correctly or
insert another disc.
Switch the audio system on.
Replace the fuse (see information on
"Fuses" in the vehicle Driver's Handbook).
If the fuse blows again, contact a
representative from the manufacturer.
Heat the passenger compartment
Press 14 or 2.
Contact a representative from the
manufacturer.
Correct the sound balance setting.
Contact your dealer.
Modify the sound volume when the next
traffic news bulletin or news item is broad-
cast.
