4.3 INSTALLATION
Important:
Do not install the Genius
Do not insert the power cord or pedal cord in a cord cover or sleeve.
Access to the rear of the device must be easy and immediate. Disconnecting elements such as the switch and
power cable are located at the rear and must remain accessible at all times.

direct or indirect sources of heat.
2-
Verify box contents, referring to Section 3.1 "PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION".
3-
Do not bend motor cord to avoid damage.
4-
All accessories are supplied non sterile.

V - SETTINGS / PARAMETERS / INTERFACE
5.1 BEFORE USE
Before powering unit on, verify that ALL COMPONENTS have been installed.
The first time it is turned on, the device displays the message "Rotating Mode", along with values set by the manufacturer. (Fig.
5)
Use the "MODE" button to switch from traditional rotation ("Rotating") to forward-reverse rotation ("F+R").
5.2 PARAMETERS
The Genius
endodontic motor stores each program parameters upon their setting by user. They are kept in memory, even if the
®
unit is powered off. It is possible to configure and store the following parameters in each program: speed, torque, contra-angle,
reduction ratio, autoreverse type, and angular values in forward and reverse rotation. To restore factory settings (software
reset), press "Mode" button while powering the device on (Fig. 5).
5.3 TORQUE CALIBRATION
To calibrate the torque, press the "Calib." button on the front panel, with the motor running. This function verifies the
handpiece mechanical inertia in order to compensate that value. This operation takes a few seconds, during which the motor
runs at various speeds (Fig. 6).
Calibration duration: Approximately 8 seconds. Do not perform any operation during calibration. Calibration should be
performed before each endodontic session and whenever the contra-angle is replaced or lubricated.
The file should not be in use during calibration.
Calibration should be performed before each treatment.
