UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
5.1
IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
• Carburettor idling must be adjusted whenever the
engine idling speed is irregular.
• To check idling correctly, start the engine and warm it
up till it reaches the normal working temperature, then leave it
idling and check engine RPM.
• Open and close the twist grip throttle a few times to check if the
idling keeps steady.
• If it requires further adjustments, refer to an Authorised MALAGUTI
Service Centre.
5.2
TWIST GRIP THROTTLE CONTROL CLEARANCE
ADJUSTMENT
• Check that the twist grip throttle free play is 1-3 mm
(measure taken from the twist grip edge).

5.3 CHECKING BRAKE LEVERS
FRONT AND REAR BRAKE ("TWIN DISKS" VERSION)
• Maintenance means only checking the brake fluid level (see
sect. 4.3).
• The wear of front and rear discs and of pads is partially
compensated by the fluid. Anyway, IT IS ABSOLUTELY
NECESSARY to replace worn discs and pads as soon as
possible. For this operation, refer only to a Technician of the
MALAGUTI Vendors/Dealers Network and use only MALAGUTI
Original Spare Parts.
• Have the front/rear pads checked every 2,000 km / 1,248 miles.
If need be, replace them.
• A smooth operation of the brake levers could indicate the
presence of air in the hydraulic circuit. In this event, refer to one
of Malaguti Vendors/Dealers for a check and circuit bleeding, if
necessary.
Rear brake (single-disk version)
• Check if the lever stroke is as shown in Fig. 27. Lever idle stroke
about 10 mm.
• For rear brake, adjust the screw placed underneath the engine,
as in Fig. 27.1.
