6.1.2

Chain tension adjustment

Perform the following operations in sequence:
Loosen the nuts (14) and (25).
Turn the screw (17) clockwise to tension the chain (16) or anti-clockwise to loosen it.
For a proper chain tensioning keep its teeth 2 mm away from the bar (15), as it is shown in the picture
Lock the nuts (14) and (25).
6.1.3

Replacing the chain or the cutting bar

Perform the following operations in sequence:
Unscrew the nuts (14) and (25) which lock the front guard (2).
Loosen the cutting bar (15) by unscrewing the screw (17) anti-clockwise.
Remove the bar with the chain and replace it, carefully checking the proper position of the cutting teeth.
Assemble first the bar with the new chain, then the guard (2) and screw the nuts (14) and (25) partially.
Tension the chain by rotating the adjusting screw (17) clockwise.
Adjust the chain so that it is well tensioned and can be easily moved by hand.
When the right tension has been reached, re-assemble the front guard (2) and lock the nuts (14) and (25).
6.1.4

Cutting bar lubrication

The oil flow on the chain (16) has been pre-set by the Manufacturer. The system is automatic and does not need any ad-
justment. Always check the oil level in the reservoir (20). Lubrication is carried out automatically.
The oil is to be added by unscrewing the plug (11) on the reservoir (20).
Never use recycled oil, since it may damage the lubrication pump.
Before adding any oil, clean the area around the plug (11), to prevent impurities from entering the oil reservoir
(20).
The lack of lubrication can cause seizing of the chain (16) on the support bar (15).
6.1.5

Maintenance at the end of the task

Follow all the maintenance instructions described in the manual.
Empty the oil reservoir (20) and close its plug (11).
Eliminate the cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover (2), then reassemble and perfectly clean the tool.
Insert the cutting bar (15) into its guard (3).
Periodically disassemble the front guard (2) and eliminate the cutting residues which could obstacle the tool per-
fect performance.
