The transport operations have to be carried out according to the current workplace safety rules.

5 USE OF THE TOOL

5.1

Recommended use of the product

Hold the tool with both hands and switch it on the by means of the ON/OFF switch (5).
To adjust the chain speed use the +/- selector (6).
Press the safety device (8) to unlock the operating lever (7). When pressing the operating lever (7), the tool starts; when
releasing the operating lever (7), the active safety device (8) engages itself automatically and the tool stops.
When storing the tool, switch it off by means of the ON/OFF switch (5), disconnect the power supply cable (13) and insert
the bar guard (3) to protect the chain (16).
• Use the tool only for the aims described in par. "Product description". Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
• Operate the tool only when it is among the branches. Any improper use causes a greater tool wear and does
not allow to save the battery consumption.
Kickback occurs when the bar upper part touches an object, or when the wood gets locked or crushed while
cutting. Hold the tool firmly with both hands, in order to avoid or reduce the kickback effect. The knowledge and
the prevention of any kickback eliminate the 'surprise factor' and reduce, therefore, accident possibilities. Check
that the cutting area is free from obstacles.
5.2

Not allowed uses

• Do not use the tool when being in unstable balance.
• Do not cut materials which are different from wood.
• Do not use the tool as a lever or to lift, move or break any object.
• Do not use the tool if the atmosphere is explosive or inflammable.
5.3

Working and cutting rules

5.3.1

Sectioning cut

• Put the hook (24) onto the branch.
• Start the tool by pressing the active safety device (8) and the operating lever (7) simultaneously.
• Cut the trunk by means of the lower part of the bar (15).
• If the branch is taut, first carry out a relieving cut of the taut side, then make a sectioning cut of the side in traction.
