Fit a new spring housing with the
bottom upwards at the recesses
(arrow)

Press the spring housing into the
starter cover
:
Refit the rope rotor
:
Tension the rewind spring
:
Refit the starter cover and screw it
into place
:
If the spring has popped out of the
spring housing: refit it, – working
anticlockwise – from the outside
inwards

Replacing the V-belt

Undo the nuts (1)
:
Turn the tensioning nut (2)
anticlockwise with the combination
wrench – approx. 1/4 turn, until it
reaches "0"

Pull the water hose out of the guide
in the V-belt guard
:
Unscrew the bolt (1)
:
Raise the V-belt guard (2) slightly
and pull it off to the front
:
Remove the V-belt from the front
pulley

Remove the nuts (1)
:
Remove the starter cover (2)
:
Do not remove the cast arm (3) and
guard – hold it in place on the studs
until the starter cover is fitted back in
position
:
Remove the defective V-belt

:
Carefully insert the new V-belt (1)
on the V-belt pulley (2) on the
engine and the front V-belt
pulley (3)
The belt action must run smoothly.
