batteries must be replaced. You can still operate the
appliance manually using the knobs on the gas control
block. See above.
Remarks
The position of the handset (which is also the tem-
perature sensor) is important for proper tem-
perature control of the stove. Therefore, always
keep the handset in the immediate vicinity of the
appliance, but no closer than 1 metre.
When you first use AUTO or TIMER mode, the sys-
tem will need some time to adjust correctly in the
function of the ambient parameters of the room in
which the stove is located. A number of cycles are
therefore necessary before you achieve optimum
operation.
If the room is sufficiently warm in AUTO or TIMER
mode, it is possible that the system will switch the
stove off temporarily (the pilot flame does not go
out). The appliance will be switched on again auto-
matically as soon as there is a need for heat once
again.
Before you set the remote control to AUTO or
TIMER mode, it is recommended you check in
MAN mode whether the signals from the handset
are being received. When you use the
tons, the light on the receiver should come on and
the knob B on the gas block should turn.

Resolving problems

Refer to the appendix "Diagnostic diagram" to resolve
any problems in using the appliance.

Maintenance

Follow the maintenance instructions in this chapter to
keep the appliance in good condition.
Annual maintenance for the
appliance
The appliance must be maintained and inspected by
an expert once per year. This service should include
at least the following:
Dust and otherwise clean the combustion chamber
and ducts for the air supply and the flue gas
exhaust.
Subject to change because of technical improvements
Inspect and check both the air and flue gas ducts
and the roof or wall sleeve for air tightness.
Dust and otherwise clean the burner. Use a
vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt from the burner.
Dust the ceramic logs.
Please note: these logs are extremely fragile.
Do not use hard or abrasive materials or com-
pressed air to spray off dirt.
Clean and check the main nozzle.
Disassemble and clean the pilot flame nozzle and
thermocouple.
Check the air tightness of the gas pipes.
Check the remote control, replace the batteries if
necessary.
Operation test: ignition of pilot flame, ignition of
main burner, operation of the remote control.
Access to the most important
components
Access to a number of internal components of the
stove is required to perform annual maintenance.
or
but-
1. Unhook the door, see the chapter "Installation" for
instructions.
2. Remove the glass pane, see the chapter "Install-
ation" for instructions.
3. Remove the decorative wood block set from the
stove.
4. Lift the main burner from the combustion chamber.
The pilot and thermocouple can now be reached for
maintenance or possible replacement.
The main nozzle is visible at the bottom of the com-
bustion chamber.
If needed, once the gas connection is disconnected,
you can remove the gas unit (gas block, pipes, main
nozzle and pilot flame) in its entirety from the appli-
