18. Hand tighten the Pin 57 using the Hex
Wrench 27. Rotate an additional 1/8 turn to
secure the Pin 57.
19. Repeat steps 16-18 for the rear Rip Fence
Index Pin 57.
Aligning the Rip Fence – Left Black
Index Pins
(Fig. 1, Fig. 43, Fig. 44)
NOTE: Before proceeding with alignment of the
Rip Fence 9, the Blade 32 must be parallel with
the Miter Gauge Slots 73 and be perpendicular
to the Table 13. See "Adjusting the Blade Paral-
lel to the Miter Gauge Slots" on page 33 and
"Adjusting 0° Positive Stop" on page 39.
1. Remove the Smart Guard System's 11 Bar-
rier Guard Assembly 25 and Anti-Kickback
Device 26.
2. Assemble the Rip Fence 9 to the Left Black
Index Pins 57. (See "Attaching the Rip
Fence" on page 22.) Make sure to orient
the Rip Fence 9 so that the Flip-Over Fence
14 is facing away from the Blade 32.
3. Move the Rip Fence toward the Blade and
verify that the Rip Fence 9 is touching the
blade teeth at the front and rear of the Blade
32. If not, then continue with the following
steps.
4. With the provided Hex Wrench 33, loosen
the Left Black Rip Fence Index Pins 57 on
the front and back Rails 10 about 1/2 to 1
turn so that the Pins can slide freely.
5. Slide the Rip Fence 9 towards the Blade 32
until the Rip Fence 9 touches the blade teeth
at the front and back of the Blade 32.
6. Hand tighten the front and back Left Black
Rip Fence Index Pins 57. Rotate an addition-
al 1/8 turn to secure the Pins. Verify that the
Rip Fence 9 is still in contact with the front
and back teeth of the Blade 32.
7. Latch the Rip Fence Lock Levers 56 onto the
Rails 10, and verify that the Rip Fence 9 is
still in contact with the blade teeth at the
front and rear of the Blade 32.
8. Replace the Smart Guard System's 11 Bar-
rier Guard Assembly 25 and Anti-Kickback
Device 26.

Adjustments
Rip Fence Pointer Adjustment
(Fig. 43, Fig. 44, Fig. 46)
When ripping on the right side of the Blade 32,
the distance between the Rip Fence 9 body and
the Blade 32 is determined by lining the Rip
Fence Pointer 80 with the desired dimension on
the Rip Fence Scale 22.
To set the Rip Fence Pointer 80:
1. Remove the Barrier Guard Assembly 25 and
Anti-Kickback Device 26 before adjusting the
Rip Fence Pointer 80.
2. Assemble the Rip Fence 9 to the Silver Rip
Fence Index Pins 57. See "Attaching the Rip
Fence" on page 22.
3. Unlock the Rail 10 using the Rail Lock Lever

4. Move the Rip Fence 9 toward the Blade 32,
and verify that the Rip Fence 9 is touching
the blade teeth at the front and rear of the
Blade 32.
5. Loosen the Pointer Adjustment Screws 81.
6. Adjust the pointer to the "0" mark on the
Rip Fence Top Silver Scale 78, then re-tight-
en the Pointer Adjustment Screws 81.
