Servicing
The grass collector must be emptied immedi-
Î
ately W 1.
To ensure trouble-free operation of the fill level
Î
indicator, regularly clean the area beneath the fill
level indicator on the inside of the grass collector
using a hand brush V 3.
Working without a grass collector
If you take off the grass collector, the deflector flap
Î
folds down.
When working without the grass collector, the
Î
grass cuttings are thrown downwards.
Mulching (Fig. S)
During mulching, the grass is cut multiple times
using a special cutting system and fed back into
the ground. This means there is no grass waste.
Moreover mulching protects the lawn against drying
out. The mulched grass contains lots of nutrients.
To obtain optimum results, the grass must be kept
short. You can find more information in the section
"Lawn care tips".
Note
Depending on the growth of the grass, we
recommend mulching 1 – 2 per week. When
doing so the grass must not be too long or
too moist!
When mulching, push the lawnmower slowly.
Î
Also ensure that the cutting stripes always
Î
overlap.
Do not cut more than 20 mm of grass.
Î
Note
If the lawn is mossy or contains lots of
thatch, mulching is not worthwhile because
the grass cuttings remain on the surface of
the moss or thatch and thus cannot be fed
into the ground.
Dethatch and fertilize the lawn regularly.
Î
Activating the MULCH function (Fig. S T)
Risk of injuries due to the rotating mower
blade.
¾ Switch the motor off. Wait until the motor
blade comes to a standstill, and pull out
the mains plug before you make any
adjustments to the device.
The lawnmower is equipped with a
changeover switch (cut-collect/mulch). .
Use this switch to choose between the
functions cut-collect and mulching for
your lawn care.
DANGER!
Raise the deflector flap T 1.
Î
Remove the grass collector T 2.
Î
Lower the deflector flap again T 3.
Î
Turn the switch to mulch S 2.
Î
Attention!
¾ Do not re-attach the grass collector as the chute
could be damaged.
Lawn care tips (Fig. N)
A lawn comprises various grass types. If you mow
more frequently, the grown of strongly-rooting
grasses is favoured resulting in firm turf. If you mow
only rarely, the growth of tall grasses and other
weeds (e.g. clover, daisies) is encouraged.
To ensure you lawn grows healthily and uni-
formly, without any lines, the cutting stripes must
always overlap by a couple of inches/several
centimetres N.
- Always route the cable safely on a patio, path or
the part of the lawn that is already cut.
- The normal height of the grass is 40–50 mm.
Cut approximately one third of the overall height
as soon as the lawn has reached a height of 60–
70 mm.
- Do not cut the lawn shorter than 45 mm as other-
wise the turf can be damaged during dry periods.
- Cut long grass in stages until normal height is
reached.
After mowing (Fig. W)
Switch the lawnmower off, wait until the motor
Î
blade comes to a standstill, and pull out the mains
plug.
Empty the grass collector W 1.
Î
Store the lawnmower in a secure location.
Î
Servicing
Risk of injuries or material damage.
¾ Only clean or service the device if the
motor is stationary and the mains plug is
pulled out.
¾ Do not reach into the area of the rotating
mower blade.
¾ Arrange for repair and service work,
and the replacement of safety elements,
cables, etc., to be performed by a
qualified expert or workshop.
Do not store the lawnmower in a damp environ-
Î
ment.
At the end of each mowing season have the
Î
mower inspected by a qualified expert or work-
shop.
