WARNING: To ensure correct use, refer to the manual supplied with the accessory for the tyre changing operations using tyre changer
equipped with the PT accessory.
When working on RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE or UHP tyres, refer to the WDK procedures and the manuals of the specific accessories.
1) Depress the pedal (7, Fig. E) to bring the arm (11, Fig. E) to its working position.
Do not place your hands on the wheel: when moving the arm to its working position your hands could be crushed
between the rim and the mounting head.
2) Place the toolhead (16, Fig. E) against the rim edge, press the red button on the grip (9, Fig. E), which causes simultaneous locking of
the hexagonal rod (10, Fig. E) and the horizontal arm (11, Fig. E).
The toolhead (16, Fig. E) is raised automatically and moved 2 mm away from the
rim edge.
N.B.: The vertical arm (10, Fig. E) can be lowered pneumatically by pressing the
yellow button.
3) With the help of the bead lifting tool (1, Fig. I) inserted over the forward end
of the mount/demount tool (16, Fig. E) and below the top bead, lift the upper
bead over the knob portion of the mount/demount head.
N.B. To prevent pinching the inner tube, do this operation with the valve about
10 cm to the left of the mount/demount tool.
4) Hold the bead lifting tool in this position and hold the pedal (1, Fig. E) depressed
to turn the table top (2, Fig. E) clockwise until the tyre comes completely off
the rim.
To prevent industrial accidents, keep hands and other
parts of the body as far from the tool arm as possible
when the table top is turning.
NOTE: If the bead rubber is particularly hard and stiff, it will tend to slip off the
mount/demount tool. To prevent this, before turning the table top clockwise,
rotate it anticlockwise for a couple of centimeters while holding the bead lift-
ing tool (1) as shown in Fig. I.
5) Remove the inner tube if the tyre has one.
6) Repeat the procedure described in point 3 to demount the lower bead.
7) Depress pedal (7, Fig. E) to bring the arm (11, Fig. E) will tilt to its non-working
position. Remove the tyre.
NOTE: The TC 410 tyre changer comes complete with the universal quick
exchange device for tool heads (CRU) as standard.
Different mount/demount heads specially designed for specific types of wheel are
available on request:
- toolhead for rims with projecting spokes (1, Fig. I/1)
- toolhead for scooter wheels (2, Fig. I/1)
- plastic tool head (3, Fig. I/1)
- toolhead with variable profile (4, Fig. I/1)
