Polarity of TIG welding leads
Negative polarity is used in most TIG welding operations. The welding torch is connected to the negative pole and the
grounding clamp to the positive pole. Thus, the wear of the electrode is reduced and the amount of heat stored in the
welded material increases.
Arc ignition in the TIG LIFT method
To ignite the welding arc in the TIG LIFT method, unscrew the valve on the handle, press the button, then gently rub
the tungsten electrode on the workpiece and slightly lift the torch so that the arc ignites. Releasing the button ends
the welding process (in 2T mode).

CAUTION! The TIG torch is not a standard accessory of the kit.

Setting the MMA welding parameters
MMA arc welding is also called the MMA method ("Manual Arc Welding") and is the oldest and most versatile
method of arc welding.
The MMA method uses a covered electrode, consisting of a metal core covered with a sheath. An electric arc is
created between the end of the electrode and the workpiece. The arc is ignited by touching the tip of the electrode to
the workpiece. The welder feeds the electrode as it fuses into the workpiece so as to maintain a constant arc length
and at the same time moves its fused end along the welding line. The melting electrode coating releases protective
gases that protect the liquid metal from the influence of the surrounding atmosphere. It then solidifies and forms a
slag on the surface of the pool, which protects the coagulating joint from cooling down too quickly and being affected
by harmful environmental influences.
Welding current selection
Turn the knob to adjust the welding current. The
appropriate plate thickness will be displayed on the
left.
