Using the IPM-400 to Source and Read (cont'd)
Calibrate Current to Pressure (I/P) Transducers
Display: SOURCE, mA, mA%, DP%
Pressure Display: PSI, pa, Kpa, Mpa, Bar, mBar, Atm, Kgf/cm2, torr, mmHg, inHg, inH2O,
mmH2O, cmH2O
This function simultaneously supplies an input signal to a current to pressure transducer and
displays the output pressure of the transducer.
• Relieve all system pressure prior to making any connections or disconnections.
• All pressure connections and test procedures must be performed by a qualified
service person, according to standard engineering practices.
Failure to observe these warnings can result in severe injury or death or equipment
damage.
Over pressurizing the pressure or vacuum module can damage the sensor.
1. Turn the Selector knob to PRESSURE. To select the desired engineering units, see the
procedure in the Read Pressure section.
2. Select the proper pressure module for the pressure range of the process and place it in
the pressure module adapter.
3. Plug the pressure module adapter cable into the pressure module adapter jack on the side
of the meter. The meter displays "– – – – – –" for up to 20 seconds while the module
powers up and is verified. The meter displays the range of the module for 3 seconds.
4. Press the °C/°F/ZERO button to zero the pressure reading.
5. Press the DISPLAY/SOURCE/READ button until "SOURCE" and "READ" appear.
6. Repeatedly press the mA/%/%DP FLOW button until the desired function appears.
7. Disconnect both the input wires and pressure output from the transducer to be calibrated.
8. Carefully make all pressure connections.
