Using the IPM-400 as a Source (cont'd)
Simulate Two-Wire Transmitters
Display: 2-WIRE, mA, mA%, DP%
This function simulates a two-wire transmitter output from 0.00 mA to 24.00 mA. It operates
in loops with power supply voltages from 3 VDC to 45 VDC.
1.
Turn the Selector knob to mA.
2.
Connect the black and red leads to the meter as shown.
3.
Repeatedly press the DISPLAY/SOURCE/READ button until "SOURCE" or "2-WIRE"
appears on the display.
4.
If "SOURCE" appears, press the TYPE/ENG UNITS button until "2-WIRE" appears.
5.
Repeatedly press the mA/%/%DP FLOW button until the desired function appears.
6.
Disconnect the existing two-wire transmitter from the loop.
7.
Connect the red lead of the meter to the plus (+) input of the device and the black lead to
the minus (–).
8.
With the toggle switch at SET, adjust the output to the desired value.
9.
Flip the toggle switch to HI or LO to use the stored values. See the Storing Output Values
section to change the stored values.
