3.3.8
Open circuit output voltage not regular.
OPEN CIRCUIT OUTPUT VOLTAGE TEST.
□ Output terminals 3(+) and 4(-) on power source = ap-
proximately +68 Vdc, with start button pressed.
NO
♦ Regular operation.
TRANSFORMER SECONDARY CIRCUIT VOLTAGE
TEST (54).
□ Check that there is no short circuit or ground leakage
in the wiring between VAC1, Vac2 + SEC terminals
of the power board (56), and output terminals (3) and
(4) of the power sorurce. Check wiring on L-OUT (58)
and connection on J9 power board (56) according to the
wiring diagram. If there are slow connections, tighten
them and replace any damaged components.
♦ Check the conditions of the secondary diodes
EN
group (see Fig. 2.3.1), inductor L-OUT (58)
and the corresponding connections on the
power board (56) printed circuit (for inspec-
tion remove the ventilation tunnel on power
board (56)).
♦ Check the conditions of the power transform-
er on power board (56). If you notice burn
signs or deformities, replace it.
♦ Replace power board (56).
■ Check wiring between J2 of INV board on power board
(56) and J5B board board (47). For the Art. 388 check
wiring between J2 of inverter board on power board
(56) connector (35), check also the trolley generator ex-
tension Art. 2060
■ Check correct fixing and cleaning in the connections
between connector J7 of INV board and connector J10
of power board (56).
■ Check condition of the inverter power components (U1
IGBT module, etc.) on power board (56).
■ Replace power (56) and/or panel (47) boards.
3.3.9
Output voltage on resistive load operation not
regular.
OPEN CIRCUIT OUTPUT VOLTAGE TEST.
□ Output terminals 3(+) and 4(-) on power source = ap-
proximately +68 Vdc, with start button pressed.
YES
♦ Carry out the test in par. 3.3.8.

OUTPUT VOLTAGE ON RESISTIVE LOAD TEST.
□ For this test, set the MIG Short SG2 1.0mm Ar 18CO2
program, in "2-stroke" mode (see power source In-
structions Manual):
− set on the 24V display;
− insert a load of 0.12 Ω;
□ Output terminals (3) and (4) on power source = values
as shown in the table, with start button pressed.

♦ Regular operation.
INVERTER POWER SUPPLY TEST.
□ Power board (56), connector J1, terminals 4(+) - 1(-)
voltage = +530 Vdc approx., with power source on
resistive load, in the table conditions (Vdc on DC-
capacitors with power source on resistive load).
YES
Correct?
♦ Perform tests of par. 3.3.1 with particular at-
tention to the POWER SUPPLY TEST.
♦ Replace power board (56).
■ Check wiring between PRIM_A and PRIM_B
terminals (primary power transformer (57)) and VAC1,
VAC2 and + SEC (power transformer secondary (57))
of power board (56) and output terminals (3) and (4) of
the power source. If you find loose connections, tighten
and replace any damaged components.
■ Check wiring between J2 of INV board on power board
(56) and J5B on panel bord (47). For the Art. 388 check
wiring between J2 of inverter board on power board
(56) connector (35), check also the trolley generator ex-
tension Art. 2060.
■ Check correct fixing and connections cleaning of the
INV board on power board (56) J10, J11 and J12 con-
nectors.
■ Check condition of the inverter power components
(IGBT U1 module etc.,) on power board (56).
■ Replace power (56) and/or panel (47) boards.
