4.2 PREPARING FOR OPERATION
CONNECTING THE BATTERY
Open the hood.
ƒ
Loosen the bolts on the pole terminals of the battery. Then:
ƒ
- Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal of the battery and secure in place with the
bolt.
- Connect the brown wire to the negative (–) terminal of the battery and secure in place with
the bolt.
Connecting the wires in opposite to that described above will damage the mower.
When disconnecting the battery, always disconnect the negative (–) terminal of the battery first.
ƒ After connecting the battery, check its condition according to the user's manual drawn up by its manufacturer
and which forms part of the mower's documentation. Respect all the instructions provided therein, especially
when charging the battery.
The mower enables the connection and use of a 12 V battery with a higher capacity than that of the
supplied battery.
CHECKING AND FILLING UP THE MOTOR OIL
Open the hood and based on the engine model, locate the oil dipstick (1):
ƒ
- On the petrol engine, the dipstick is located on the left side of the engine (when viewing the
mower from the front)
- On the diesel engine, the dipstick is located on the right side of the engine (when viewing the
mower from the front)
Screw out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean using a dry cloth, reinsert it and screw in. Then again screw
ƒ
it out and check the oil level. The oil level must be between the two marks on the dipstick. If it is
not, fill up with motor oil so that it reaches the top mark.
The motor oil type is indicated in the user's manual of the engine.
CHECKING AND FILLING UP THE MOTOR COOLANT FLUID
Open the hood.
ƒ
Screw off the lid (1) on the top part of the radiator and check the level of the coolant fluid. The
ƒ
bottleneck should always be fully filled when the engine is cold.
If the bottleneck is not fully filled, fill up the coolant fluid and also into the coolant tank (2).
ƒ
The type and amount of coolant fluid is specified in the separate user's manual of the engine's manufacturer.
