REPLACING THE MOWING DECK DRIVE BELTS
The mowing deck drive belts can be replaced either after removing the mowing deck from the mower or after
sliding the universal-shaft out of the mowing deck drive shaft, whilst leaving the mowing deck on the mower.
Perform the replacement based on which method is more appropriate to the conditions in your workshop or
based in the planned scope of maintenance.
If you wish to remove the mowing deck from the mower, follow
ƒ
the procedure described in chapter REMOVING THE MOWING
DECK FROM THE MOWER. Then:
- Then remove the mowing deck belt cover.
- Loosen the tensioning belt pulley (1) with spring (2).
- Loosen the housing (3) with the belt pulley and universal-shaft
so that it is possible to remove the belts from the belt pulleys.
- Install the new belts, tension the housing and subsequently
the tensioning pulley. Tension value
PARAMETERS and fig. 29.
- Mount the mowing deck back on to the mower as described in
chapter REMOUNTING THE MOWING DECK ON THE MOWER.
If you wish to leave the mowing deck on the mower, proceed
ƒ
as follows:
- Remove the cover of the universal-shaft by sliding the cotter out
of the pins in the front and rear part of the cover (
- Then remove the mowing deck belt cover.
- Loosen the clamping connection of the universal-shaft on the
side of the mowing deck and slide it out of the belt pulley shaft
(part of the universal-shaft with the outer grooving inserted into
the universal-shaft with the inner grooving).
- Loosen the housing (3) with the belt pulley so that it is possible
to remove the belts from the belt pulleys.
- Install the new belts, tension the housing and subsequently
the tensioning pulley. Tension value
PARAMETERS and fig. 29. ATTENTION: The belts must be
replaced together as pairs.
- Slide the universal-shaft back on to the mowing deck belt pulley
shaft and tighten the clamping connection.
ATTENTION: After tensioning the tensioning pulley (1), the belts should not have a deflection greater
than 2 cm!
BATTERY
Before performing any task on the battery, always remove the ignition key from the main switch.
When working on the battery, never smoke, handle an open fire or light, and do not perform tasks
during which sparks are generated.
Never use a damaged battery.
Do not connect the battery terminals to each other, this could create a short circuit.
This chapter provides only basic battery maintenance instructions. Further details about inspections,
maintenance and charging of the battery are included in a separate user's manual supplied by the
battery's manufacturer.
