Clean your cutting tools (i.e. blades) with a Gum
and Pitch Remover.
Periodically clean the guard. Wipe it or blow it
clean with compressed air.
The cord and the tool should be wiped with a dry
clean cloth to prevent deterioration from oil and
grease.
Certain cleaning agents and solvents can dam-
age plastic parts. Some of these are: gasoline,
carbon tetrachloride, chlorinated cleaning sol-
vents, ammonia and household detergents which
contain ammonia. Avoiding use of these and
other types of cleaning agents will minimize the
possibility of damage.
A coat of automobile-type wax applied to the ta-
ble will help to keep the surface clean and allow
work pieces to slide more freely.
If the power cord is worn or cut, or damaged in
anyway, have it replaced immediately.
Make sure the teeth of the ANTI-KICKBACK
pawls are always sharp. To sharpen:
Fig. 65
1. Remove blade guard.
2. Rotate pawl toward rear of riving knife so that
teeth are above top of riving knife.
3. Hold riving knife with pawl over corner of work-
bench (Fig. 65).
4. Using a small round file (Smooth Cut) sharpen
the teeth.

All repairs, electrical or me-
chanical, should be at-
tempted only by trained repairmen. Contact
the nearest Factory Service Center or Autho-
rized Service Station or other competent re-
pair service. Use only identical replacement
parts, any other may create a hazard.
The Active Response Technology™ injury mitiga-
tion system is designed for 25 activations before
a service inspection is required. When the blue
service light starts flashing after being plugged in,
the saw has 1 only one remaining activation until
the service is mandatory. Please bring the saw to
the closest Factory Service Center or Authorized
Service Station at your convenience. After the 1
remaining activation is used, the blue light turns
on and the saw is disabled until the service check
is complete.
The motor and power transmission components
can last for years if properly maintained. When
the blue service light starts a long pulse for the
first 5 minutes after being plugged in, the brushes
have reached the end of their recommended life.
Please replace them at the earliest convenient
time.
LUBRICATION
The gear case has been completely lubricated at
the factory.
The following parts can be lubricated occasion-
ally with a silicon based lubricant (Fig. 66).
1. Elevation, support rods, and gears.
2. Sliding rails and supports.
3. Table locking cams (Front and Rear).
SERVICE
Every six months to one year, depending upon
use, it is advised to return your tool to the nearest
Service Center for the following:
• Brushes replaced.
• Parts cleaned and inspected.
• Relubricated with fresh lubricant.
• Electrical system tested.
• Any other service.
