Check that all nuts and bolts are properly tightened. It is
important to inspect regularly the equipment in order to
ensure safety issues and a good performance.
Before operating the machine, check that the spark plug is
properly connected to the spark plug cap.
Check the are to be ploughed and clear all large stones,
sticks, wires, glass, metal, bones and other foreign objects
that may be ejected by the machine.
Objects hidden in the soil (sprinkler system, stakes, water
taps, electrical cables, etc.) must be visibly marked in order
to be bypassed by the tiller. Never pass over these foreign
objects.
Before start-up, to ensure you work safely with the tiller, you
need to check if:
▪ The whole machine is assembled correctly and if the
tines are assembled firmly and securely;
▪ The safety devices (e.g. traction mechanism levers,
mudguards, guards, handlebars, grille guard) are in
perfect condition and working correctly. Never operate
the equipment if the safety devices are missing,
damaged or worn out;
▪ The tank, fuel line components and cap are in perfect
condition;
▪ The engine oil filler cap is properly tightened.
Make all adjustments and work necessary. If you have any
questions or difficulties, contact your official dealer.
Before start up, remove all objects on top of the machine
(tools, accessories, cloths, etc.).
Observe the local regulations on the hours when it is
allowed to use machines with a combustion engine and the
permitted noise level.
Keep third parties away from the tiller's area of
operation. Never work while animals or people,
especially children, are in the danger zone. During
operation, objects such as earth and stones can be ejected
upwards or sideways.
The machine can only be used by a single person. The user
must remain within the working area during the entire
period while the engine is running.
During operation, the tiller may never be lifted, pushed or
pulled by the transport handle, or other parts of the
appliance except by the handlebar grips, especially by a
second person.
The control and safety devices installed on the machine
must not be removed or inhibited. In particular, never fix
the drive mechanism levers to the upper part of the
handlebars.
Do not place your hands or feet near or under rotating
parts. You should always keep a safety distance. The
safety distance is determined by the length of the correctly
assemble handlebar, do not modify the handlebar and
never start the machine with a folding handlebar.
Never attach objects to the handlebars (e.g. workwear).
Work only in daylight or with good artificial lighting and do
not work with the tiller exposed to the rain, thunder and, in
particular, under the danger of lightning.
When the soil is wet, there is a greater risk of accidents due
to the less safe working position. You must work carefully
to avoid slipping. If possible, avoid operating the tiller on a
wet soil.
Use the tiller with special caution when working near
slopes, ditches and wells. Keep a safe distance from these
hazardous places.
In case of nausea, headaches, sight problems (eg.
reduced vision), hearing problems, dizziness and
reduced ability to concentrate, stop working immediately.
These symptoms may be caused by high exhaust gas
concentration.
