To temporarily stop the tape during playback ora recording. Press the

REC SYSTEM buttons (NTSC, PAL)
When recording, to convert the signals received from the antenna or
the external equipment to the NTSC or PAL color system.

SYSTEM buttons (NTSC, PAL)
To convert the recorded signals to the NTSC or PAL color system, and
output to the TV.

Receives the infrared signals from the remote control.
