Important notes on using the rotisserie:
•
Wear oven mitts.
•
To prevent burns, grip the rotisserie with a heat-resistant, food-safe kitchen
utensil.
•
Allow the rotisserie to cool on a heat-resistant, food-safe surface before
proceeding to the next step.
•
If necessary, clean the rotisserie as described in the section CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE.
Using the rotisserie:
1
Loosen the screws on the rotisserie spit fixators.
2
Remove the fixators.
3
Remove paper, plastic wrap and debris from the food to be grilled.
4
Slide the food to be grilled onto the skewer.
5
Slide the rotisserie spit fasteners back onto the spit so that
•
the tines of the fixators grip the food firmly,
•
the food being grilled cannot come loose from the skewer during grilling
and
•
the food being grilled rotates when rotating with the rotisserie.
6
Tighten the screws.
7
Use kitchen twine to tie those parts of the food that may open, enlarge, or
stick out during cooking, such as the wings and legs of a rotisserie chicken, to
the food ("dressing"). Use oven-safe kitchen twine for dressing.
Note: Use a fine skewer to poke a few holes in thick and fatty food before
cooking to speed up cooking and allow excess fat to run out.
