Safety
When filling or emptying the tank,
stay in a clean, well-ventilated out-
door area and use an approved
fuel collection container. Do not
smoke. Avoid ignition sparks, open
flames or other ignition sources
in the vicinity of the area in which
the fuel is being filled or the appli-
ance is being operated. Under no
circumstances should the tank be
filled inside a building.
Keep grounded, conductible ob-
jects, such as tools, away from un-
protected, live electrical parts and
connections to avoid spark forma-
tion or flashover. These could cause
smoke gas or vapors to ignite.
Always switch off the motor and
let it cool before filling the tank.
Under no circumstances should
you remove the tank cover while
the motor is running or fill the tank
with fuel while the motor is running
or warm. Do not use the machine if
the fuel system contains leaks.
Open the tank cover slightly to
release the pressure in the tank.
Do not overfill the tank (fill up to
approximately 1.5 cm under the
filler neck to leave room in case the
fuel has expanded due to the heat
generated by the motor).
Replace the tank cover and the
container securely and wipe away
any spilled fuel. Do not use the
32 GB/IE/NI/CY/MT
appliance if the tank cover is not
attached.
Avoid ignition sparks in areas
where fuel has spilled. Do not try
to start the motor if fuel has been
spilled. Instead, remove the appli-
ance from the affected area and
avoid ignition sparks until the fuel
vapors have evaporated.
Store fuel only in containers that
have been specially manufactured
and approved for this purpose.
Store fuel in a cool, well-ventilated
location away from ignition sparks,
open flames or other ignition sourc-
es.
Under no circumstances should fuel
or the appliance with filled tank be
stored in a building where either of
these might come into contact with
smoke gases containing ignition
sparks, open flames or other igni-
tion sources, such as water heaters,
ovens, dryers or other similar ob-
jects. Allow the motor to cool down
before storing the appliance.
Notes regarding use and main-
tenance of the appliance
Do not raise or carry the appliance
while the motor is running.
Do not use force to handle the
appliance.
