Alu 2P and Alu 3P weight application
modes:
5.9.1.1 Using the Laser Pointer
With the Laser Pointer mode active in Alu 2P and Alu
3P modes, the correction planes for tape weights are
accurately indicated by the laser pointer directly on
rim (Fig. 5-47).
Note:
When the indication is given by the laser, the
weight must not be fi tted at 12 o'clock, but at the bottom
of the rim, precisely where indicated by the pointer.
Weight application at approx. 5 o'clock, at the right of
the indication Laser Point (Fig. 5-47a). Weight will be
positioned to the right compared to the contact point
of measuring device on rim.

display (Fig. 5-20) shows the correction values
and the position of the weights to be applied.
• Select a stick-on weight of the indicated size.
• Slowly rotate the wheel by hand (e.g. anticlockwise).
As the correct angle position is reached the laser
pointer indicator lights up on the rim.
When all the indicators are ON (2, Fig. 5-20), the
WAP indicator will also light up (3-Figure 5-20).
• Before applying stick-on weights, press brake pedal
to lock the wheel.
• Apply counterweight and manually press stick-on
weight against rim (Fig. 5-47).
• Repeat this procedure to balance the other side of
the wheel.
