The indication G100 Ctr will appear on the display with the Cl
and % LEDs illuminated. The
2
instrument will indicate the GAIN quality of the chlorine electrode.
To exit the menu press the
key.
The indications referred to the quality of the electrode have to be considered separately. A low
quality level for one of the two parameters is an indicator of poor quality, even if the other indicates
a good level.
WARNING: Always check the quality of the standard solutions, which must be uniformly coloured.
Take care not to use buffer solutions that have been open for more than one year.
EXAMPLE:
Let us assume that on carrying out calibration with a pH of 7 the quality is found to be 10%, while
with a pH of 4 it is found to be 98%.
In this case it is clear that the reference element of the electrode has deteriorated earlier than
expected. This is typical, for example, of chlorination systems in which SHOCK chlorination is
carried out, as this tends to pollute the reference of the electrode.
In these cases, it is a good rule to close the measuring system during the super-chlorination
procedure, or to use special electrodes with a double barrier, designed specifically to avoid
damage caused by the chlorine dissolved in the water.
