By selecting the variable REG = PULS within the menu, it will be possible to have the variables
indicated above.
With PULS control, there are three basic variables to be set, which are:
1) Ton
2) Tof
3) BND
These three variables enable the metering to be controlled in the timed mode within two points:
For the pH: between the Set point and the Set Point plus the safety band (BND)
For the Chlorine: between the Set point and the Set Point less the safety band (BND)
Example:
If we set a pH set point = 7,20 pH and a safety band BND = pH 0.20, we can control the value
with a time Ton and Tof between a pH of 7.20 and 7.40.
If we set a chlorine set point = 1.00 ppm of chlorine and a safety band BND = 0.30, we can
control the value with a time Ton and Tof between 0.70 ppm and 1.00 ppm.
The settings permitted within this range are two:
1) Ton and Tof having different values
Example: Ton = 10 seconds Tof = 5 seconds
The metering time of the pump will always be ON for 10 seconds and OFF for 5 secons, within the
range that is set.
2) Ton and Tof having the same values
Example: Ton = 10 seconds Tof = 10 seconds
The metering time of the pump will be proportional in time as the Set Point is approached within
the range that has been set.
Proportional example:
Proportional control, as described above, is illustrated in the following graphs. In addition, a dotted
line has been used to show the control that would be achieved if the operator were to set a
hysteresis value (HIS).
Set Point = 7,20 pH
HIS = 0.10 pH (control according to the dotted line)
Ton = 10 Seconds
Tof = 10 Seconds
BND = 0.20 pH
