Stereo DJ Mixer
These operating instructions are intended for
users with basic knowledge in audio tech-
nology . Please read the instructions carefully
prior to operating the unit and keep them for
later reference .
All operating elements and connections
described can be found on the fold-out page 3 .
1 Operating Elements
and Connections
1.1 Front panel
1 XLR input jack DJ MIC (bal .) for the con-
nection of a DJ mono microphone [When
a microphone is connected to the 6 .3 mm
jack DJ MIC (27) on the rear side of the
unit, this jack will be switched off .]
2 Selector buttons for the inputs of chan-
nels 1 to 4
3 Gain controls for adjusting the input
amplification for the input channels
4 Equalizer for channels 1 to 4:
treble (HIGH), midrange (MID), bass (LOW)
controls
5 HIGH and LOW controls for the DJ
microphone
6 Master fader for the master channel A
7 Button for switching the VU meter (20)
between the two master channels
Button not pressed:
The level of master channel A is dis-
played .
Button pressed:
The level of master channel B is dis-
played .
Note: To display the level of one of the two
master channels, the VU meter must be in the
display mode "MASTER" [selector button (21)
not pressed] .
8 4-pole XLR jack LAMP for connection of
a console light (12 V/ 5 W max .)
9 Master fader for the master channel B
10 On /off switch POWER
11 6 .3 mm jack for connection of stereo
headphones (impedance ≥ 8 Ω)
12 Level control for the headphones con-
nected to jack (11)
13 Control MIX for the headphone output
(11):
For monitoring the pre-fader level of one
of the in put channels 1 to 4, press but-
ton PFL (17) of the channel and turn the
control MIX to the left stop (position PFL) .
For monitoring the current music pro-
gramme ahead of the master faders
(6 and 9), turn the control MIX to the right
stop (position PROG .) .
14 Button AUTOTALK for microphone
announcements: When the button is
pressed, during announce ments via the
DJ microphone the levels of the channels
1 to 4 are attenuated by 12 dB .
15 Button ON AIR for switching on /off the
DJ microphone
16 Buttons SEND for switching the input
channels to the pre-fader send way:
When the button is pressed, the respec-
tive channel will be fed to the output
SEND (34) ahead of the fader (18) .
17 Buttons PFL for pre-fader listening of the
input channels 1 to 4 ahead of the respec-
tive channel fader (18) via headphones
connected to jack (11)
18 Level controls (faders) for the input chan-
nels
19 Level control for the effect unit con nected
to the input RETURN (33)
20 Stereo VU meter
21 Selector button for the display mode of
the VU meter (20)
Button not pressed:
display mode "MASTER": The VU
meter shows the level of the master
channel selected with button (7) .
Button pressed:
display mode "PFL": The VU meter
shows the pre-fader level of the input
channel of which the button PFL (17)
is pressed .
22 Switch C .F . ASSIGN A for the crossfader
(24); deter mines which input channel is
faded in when the crossfader is in the left
position
23 Switch C .F . ASSIGN B for the crossfader
(24); deter mines which input channel is
faded in when the cross fader is in the
right position
24 Crossfader for fading between two of the
channels 1 to 4; the respective channels
are selected with the two C .F . ASSIGN
switches (22 and 23)
1.2 Rear panel
25 Stereo inputs PHONO (RCA) for the chan-
nels 1 and 2 for connection of turntables
with magnetic system
26 Connection GND for a common ground-
ing point, e . g . for the turntables con-
nected
27 6 .3 mm jack DJ MIC (bal .) for connection
of a DJ mono microphone
[When a microphone is connected to this
jack, the XLR jack DJ MIC (1) on the front
panel will be switched off .]
28 Mains cable for connection of the unit to
the power supply (230 V/ 50 Hz)
29 Stereo output A (XLR, bal .) of the master
channel A for connection of an amplifier
30 Stereo output B (RCA) of the master chan-
nel B for connection of an amplifier
31 Stereo output A (RCA) of the master
channel A for connection of an amplifier
32 Stereo output REC (RCA) for connection
of an audio recorder; the recording level is
independent of the position of the master
faders (6 and 9)
33 Stereo input RETURN (RCA) for returning
signals which have been routed out of the
mixer via the output SEND (34) and fed
through an effect unit: connection to the
output of the effect unit
34 Stereo output SEND (RCA) for routing out
the channel signals sent to the pre-fader
send way: connection to a unit with line
level input, e . g . effect unit, amplifier of
the monitoring system
35 Stereo inputs LINE and CD (RCA) for chan-
nels 1 to 4 for connection of units with
line level outputs (e . g . CD / MP3 player,
tape recorder)
2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
voltage . Leave servicing to skilled
personnel only . Inexpert han-
dling may result in electric shock .

The unit is suitable for indoor use only . Pro-
tect it against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity and heat (admis-
sible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C) .
•
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on
the unit, e . g . a drinking glass .
•
Immediately disconnect the plug from the
mains socket
1 . if the unit or the mains cable is visibly
damaged,
2 . if a defect might have occurred after the
unit was dropped or suffered a similar
accident,
3 . if malfunctions occur .
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel .

A damaged mains cable must be replaced
by skilled personnel only .
•
Never pull the mains cable for disconnect-
ing the mains plug from the socket, always
seize the plug .
•
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use chemicals or water .
•
No guarantee claims for the unit and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
unit is used for other purposes than orig-
inally intended, if it is not correctly con-
nected, or operated, or if it is not repaired
in an expert way .

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured
in ac cord ance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains
lead of this appliance may not correspond
with the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
1 . The wire which is coloured blue must be
con nected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter N or
coloured black .
2 . The wire which is coloured brown must
be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter L or coloured red .
If the unit is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment .
