Weight application
The following weight types and application methods
are available:
-
Clip-on weights.
Always apply by hand (Figure 5-23).
-
Stick-on weights.
After wheel run, look at the rotation indicators for the
left plane of the wheel (1, Fig. 4-13):
• Turn the wheel manually until it reaches the
counterweight application point; up and down
arrows, completely green.
WARNING: MOVE AWAY FROM THE WHEEL
Alternatively:
• If you touch the imbalance value (A, Fig. 4-13), the
wheel moves automatically to the weight application
WAP position in that plane (1, Fig. 4-13).
5.15.1 Attaching a clip-on weight
Clip-on weights must be applied at 12 o'clock.
•
The lip should be inserted on the rim edge. Use the
•
weight pliers to correctly position it.
In STATIC mode only the left hand DISPLAY is used.
5.15.2 Attaching a stick-on weight
See paragraph 5.13.3.
•
Apply by hand at 12 o'clock in all other cases.
•
In STATIC mode only the left hand display is used
(1,Fig. 5-51).
ALU or STATIC modes only:
Note: With STATIC weight modes, always apply the
weight at the rim centre line. If not possible, split
the weight evenly and apply on another surface
of the rim (symmetrical to the rim centre line).
Note: With large static unbalance (e.g.: >30g) divide
the value into two fairly equal parts and correct
it at both sides of the wheel by applying
the weights, considering the chosen ALU
positioning.
