5.1 Adapting and Mounting the Tube

CAUTION
Incorrect processing of tube
Fall due to damage to the tube
► Do not clamp the tube into a vice.
► For shortening the tube, use only a tube cutter.
CAUTION
Incorrect mounting of the tube
Fall due to breakage of load-bearing components
► Slide the tube all the way to the stop in the intended prosthesis com­
ponent when mounting.
CAUTION
Improper assembly of the screw connections
Fall due to breakage or loosening of the screw connections
► Clean the threads before every installation.
► Apply the installation torques provided.
► Observe the instructions for securing the screw connections and the
use of the correct length.
Recommended tools and materials:

710D4 Torque Wrench, 719R3 Tube Cutter, 718R1 Tube Deburrer,
degreasing cleaner (e.g. 634A3 Acetone)
1) Use the tube cutter to shorten the tube (see Fig. 5) to fit the user's
measurements (see Fig. 2).
2) Use the deburring knife to carefully deburr the inside and outside of the
cut edge (see Fig. 3).
3) Slacken the cap screw by 2 turns (see Fig. 4, Item 2).
4) For definitive mounting, clean the insertion area of the connecting com­
ponent on the inside and the tube on the outside using a degreasing
cleaner.
5) While slightly turning the tube, slide it 5 mm into the connecting com­
ponent.
6) Take the connecting component with the inserted tube and place it on
the work desk in a vertical position.
7) Slide the tube into the connecting component until the tube rests against
the bottom of the clamp fitting.
