It is possible to remove the remote functionality of a remote control device (for instance
if it should become lost) by recoding all the other remote controls which you continue to
use, five times in succession. To do this, follow the procedure below under "Recoding
Remote Control Devices".
Unlock the vehicle with the remote control.
Sit inside the Vehicle. Close all the doors but do not lock them.
Step 1: Press the lower button of an active, operative manual transmitter for
approximately 3 seconds. The system is now in coding mode. The vehicle will be
locked as confirmation.
Step 2: Press the upper button of the new manual transmitter, until the central
locking mechanism unlocks to confirm the new code.
Step 3: Test the new remote control hand device. If it does not function then repeat
all of the above steps.
If the signal range of the remote control decreases considerably or if the control LED
flashes during transmission, the battery must be changed. Only use batteries which are
leak-proof and suitable for electronic devices. Keep the batteries out of the reach of
children. Never attempt to recharge or to open batteries and never throw them onto a
fire.
Protect your environment! Used batteries should not be thrown into the domestic refuse,
but handed in to public collection points or given back to your dealer who will collect
them and recycle them appropriately.
Remove the screw on the underside of the remote control and open the transmitter.
Replace the battery. Be sure that the battery terminals (type CR 2032 3 Volt) are
connected correctly - the positive terminal is on top. The battery is available from
photographic stores, clock stores, etc.
Replace the remote control cover and screw it back.
