INFORMATION ABOUT INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF THE PUMP

Preliminary checks

The pump may only be used if it is in perfect condition and connected safely, therefore:
• check the alignment and condition of the connection between motor and pump.
• do not make the pump work in dry condition.
• check the level of the lubricating oil in the pump. Top up if it is below the level prescribed (see the chap-
ter "RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE LUBRICATING OIL USED IN THE PUMP")
• make sure that all scheduled maintenance has been done;
• check for any leaks in the suction system and there are no broken instruments (pressure switches, gau-
ges, etc.)
m
WARNING!
The pump must be turned off when replacing faulty devices and eliminating leaks in couplings and pipes.
CAUTION!
never use glues, such as Loctite or the equivalent, to seal connections, devices or pipe couplings.
CAUTION!
Use suitable tools for tightening nut and bolt connections.
• Do not operate the pump if it is only partly assembled and do not remove any of the safety and pro-
tection devices from it.
• Make sure that the pump's moving parts are suitably protected and cannot be accessed by unauthori-
sed people.
m
WARNING!
• The Skilled Technician must abide by the installation instructions contained in this manual, in particu-
lar, the specifications of the motor (electric or internal combustion), to be coupled to the pump must
be in conformity with the constructive specifications and performance of the pump (power, rotation
speed, flanging, etc.), as shown on the technical data plate and the contents of this manual.
• Under no circumstances must the pump be run:
- at a pressure above that shown on the technical data plate: in this respect, always make sure the pres-
sure unloader/regulation valve and pressure relief valve are correctly set and that the setting is ensu-
red for example by means of a painted mark;
- at a rotation speed above that shown on the technical data plate;
- if the crank shaft is turning at less than 800 RPM (rotation speed of the oil pump).
• Maximum inclination of the pump compared to the horizontal plane: max 5°.
m
WARNING!
The pump cannot be commissioned if the machine it is part of does not conform to the safety requirements
established by the European Directives. This is guaranteed by the
ty of the machine's Manufacturer the pump is part of.
m
WARNING!
Carry out the preliminary operations described in the manual of the machine incorporating the pump.
Operating guide
Connect the control device to the pump so it can be disabled to avoid accidents during start-up.
Before starting it up, check the installation and status of all the safety devices.
• Observe the operating limits given on the technical data plate.
• If leaks, unusual noises, vibrations or other anomalies/damages are found when working, turn the pump
off immediately.
