row marker not working
or malfunctioning
cod. G19502812
CAUSES
1) The longitudinal distance does not match
the value indicated in the seed amount
table.
2) The transmission wheel turns, but the
shaft transferring motion to the planting
units does not.
3) The transmission wheels turn at different
speeds.
4) The transmission wheels turn at different
speeds.
5) The transmission wheels turn, but the
disc in the seed distributor does not
move.
6) The tyres are down: the speed ratio is
altered.
7) The forward speed is very high.
1) Residual seeds have remained in the
area under the distributor.
2) The distance between the seeds is not
regular or the emergency device is not in
good condition.
3) The holes in the disc tend to get clogged
very easily.
4) Seeds are not planted in the first meters
of soil.
1) The planting disc has deep cracking and
scoring.
2) Residual seeds are not aspirated by the
distributor hopper.
3) The wheels in the planting unit do not
turn.
1) The MINIMAX distributor and/or the
gearboxes are set incorrectly.
2) The specific weight of the product is
different from that specified in the table.
3) Non-granulated products have been
used (powder).
4) The down pipes are bent (elbow) and/or
clogged with deposits.
5) The furrowing element is clogged.
6) The seed distributor is fouled with
deposits.
7) The protection grid has been installed
incorrectly (after maintenance).
8) There is fertilizer on the surface.
1) Dirt is present in the hydraulic system.
2) The row marker arms rise very fast
(damage to the frame).
USE AND MAINTENANCE
1) Check the gearbox ratios using the supplied
tables: if two gearboxes are fitted, ensure that
they are set in the same way.
2) Check that the shaft is engaged in all the planting
units and is in good condition.
3) Check that the wheels are properly loaded (turn
the tensioning spring) and set at the same
height.
4) Usually, the wheels immediately behind the
tractor's wheels have a different grip from those
rolling on the soil. Calculate the difference
(percentage value) and set the gearbox to offset
the error.
5) Check that the chains in the wheel and planting
unit are in good condition.
6) Inflate the tyres according to the values indicated
in the technical specification table.
7) Reduce the planting speed.
1) Check that the cover is closed. Check
that the seal is not worn. Check that the
disc is in the correct position (the pins
must face the distributor).
2) -Check that the cutting edge is not worn
and creates a deep and sharp furrow.
- Check the seed-covering harrows and
set them.
- Check the seed-covering wheel and set
it.
- Check that the cavities in the coulter are
not clogged by earth or residues.
3) Check that the pressure of the air blow-
off is correct.
4) Before starting planting operations,
engage the vacuum pump and let the
wheels turn to load the seed distributor.
1) Check that there is no foreign matter in
the distributor. Check the seals.
2) Check that the cock of the seed aspirator
is open. Increase the revolutions of the
fan and ensure that the vacuum channel
is free from clogging.
3) Check the position of the soil scraper.
Replace the bearings, if they are worn.
1) Refer to the distribution table and correct the
setting.
2) Use the values in the table for the new specific
weight of the product.
3) Powder products are not suitable with this type of
distributor. Change the product.
4) Check the pipe length: shorten or stretch the
pipes. Clean.
5) Clean.
6) Clean.
7) Check the position (a 1 cm opening must be
visible at the back).
8) Increase the disc contact strength and apply a
counterweight to the seed drill frame.
1) Clean the change-over valve and the nipple with
a calibrated hole that is installed on the hydraulic
cylinders of the row marker arms (if fitted).
2) Adjust the flow controllers to calibrate the system
correctly during row marker arms rise.
