GAS FEED SYSTEM AT LOW PRESSURE (max - 400 mm.W.C.)
In addition. the following should be installed: a cut-off
cock, a gas filter, a pressure stabilizer or a pressure
regulator (when the feed pressure is superior to 400
2
mm.W.C. = 0.04 kg/cm
These parts should be installed as described in our
drawing.
We consider it useful to give the following practical tips for
installing the essential accessories on the gas pipeline near
to the burner:
1) To avoid big drops in pressure on ignition the length of
the pipeline between the point where the stabilizer or
reducer is fitted and the burner should be from 1,5 to 2
m. This pipe must have a diameter equal or superior to
that of the burner attachment fitting.
2) To get the best performance out of the pressure stabilizer,
it is advisable to fit it onto horizontal pipes after the filter.
The gas pressure regulator must be adjusted while it is
working at the maximum capacity actually displayed by
the burner. The output pressure must be adjusted to a
value slightly lower than the maximum possible value
(that obtained by turning the adjusting screws almost
up to the limit). In this specific case, tightening the
adjusting screws will increase the pressure at the
regulator outlet, and slackening them will reduce the
pressure.
3) We advise installing a bend directly onto the burner gas
ramp before applying the removable fitting. This layout
makes it possible to open the boiler door if there is one,
after the pipe fitting itself has been opened.
NOTE: If the burner has gas valves model "SKP 70 .." it is
not necessary to install the pressure regulator,
since the pressure is adjusted by the normal
working of the valve.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The three-phase or single-phase power supply line of the minimum suitable size for the power absorbed by the
burner must be provided with fuse switch. In addition, according to the Standards, a switch on the burner supply
line is required, arranged outside the boiler room in an easily reachable position.
All electrical lines must be protected with a flexible sheath, be firmly fixed and pass far from high-temperature
elements. See the diagrams for the electrical connections (line and thermostats).
BURNER CONNECTION TO THE GAS PIPING
After attaching the burner to the boiler, remembering that the burner's blast-pipe must penetrate the combustion
chamber, connect it to the gas piping. It is advisable to install, as close as possible to the burner, a flange
couple connection to allow the boiler's door to be opened without difficulty and to permit burner disassembly .
Before closing this connector the air in the piping should be carefully bled out with doors and windows open.
Before testing the burner, you must check the gas piping is completely free from any leaks.
