As soon as the indicator plug on the shaft reaches a stop, the
handle ring slides to the front and the indicator plug can be
pushed onto the rim.
Indicator plug flush with rim
After letting go of the indicator plug, the handle ring returns to the
initial position and locks the indicator plug on the shaft in one of
the grooves.
After actuating the foot push-button switch, the clamping tool is
closed. The groove shaft is tightened and clamps the wheel
against the flange.
Now, the balancing process can be started.

Unclamping the wheel

The quick clamping device is opened with the foot push-button
switch. Hold the wheel inside the rim with the left hand.
Hold the indicator plug at the handle ring and pull it off in external
direction across the first resistance.
Now, the indicator plug can be removed via the retainers and the
wheel can be removed from the shaft.
5.5.3

Zero run on the Quick span machines

The procedure for the zero run is different to that of the balance
machines with the standard clamping means in that the clamping
sleeve is fitted on the shaft. The shaft should be actuated
outwards and the sleeve placed on it up to the second groove
from the left, after which the shaft is actuated to the closed
position.
5.5.4

Calibration run on Quick Span balance machines

As with the zero run, the calibration procedure is done with the
clamping sleeve fitted on the shaft. The shaft should be actuated
outwards and the sleeve placed on it up to the second groove
from the left, after which the shaft is actuated to the closed
position.

Measuring sequence

The detected wheel data and the selected program are displayed
on the left-hand side in the status strip (1).
The balancing process can be started via the „Start" key at the
operation field or when the automatic start function has been
activated or when the cover is closed.
When the balancing process is finished, the values for the
compensation weights are displayed on the left-hand side and on
the right-hand side in both fields. The values are rounded off in
accordance with the set-up rounding values.
The machine stops the wheel with the left-hand balance weight
position in the „12 o'clock" position.
Starting from BM 35, the wheel is held in this position via an
electric hand brake.
The reaching of the correct position is shown by green arrows
above or underneath the weight display. In case of deviations from
this position, the arrow colour changes to red and the arrows
show in which direction the wheel must be turned.
In case of BM 25, the wheel must be turned manually into the
second counterweight position.
The reaching of the correct position is shown by green arrows in
the weight display.
From BM 35 onwards, it is possible to turn the wheel automatical-
ly into the right-hand counterweight position via the „Stop/Pos"
key. When reaching the position, the wheel will continue to be
held via the electric brake.
In case of a high static imbalance, the notice „Match" will be
displayed additionally in the status strip.
