Insert wheel data from data storage unit
In the data storage unit, different wheel data and programs can be
saved for up to 20 wheels.
The data storage unit can be called from the monitors Wheel data,
Measuring or Program selection via the symbo
The current wheel data in the currently selected program are
displayed in the uppermost display area (9).
The currently saved values are in the lowermost display area (10).
F1 Change of area:
Change between the upper (1-10) and the lower (11-
20) area.
F2, F3 Cursor movement:
Select the storage place from within the current
wheel data.
F4:
Save the current data at the storage place where the
cursor currently is. Data which are already present
there are overwritten.
F5:
Loads the selected data block into the user memory.
F6:
Specifies the selected data block as standard data
block. This is loaded automatically when starting the
machine.

Centering and clamping device
In order to be able to clamp a wheel onto the machine, an
appropriate wheel clamping device must be mounted onto the
main shaft. Only clamping devices which have been mounted
.
correctly, which are perfect from the mechanical point of view and
which are clean guarantee the highest possible balancing preci-
sion.
The technical documentation of some vehicle manufacturers
specifies the type of wheel reception at the vehicle. (centered at
a bolt or centered in the middle)
9
The clamping and the centering means for the balancing process
are to be selected correspondingly.
- Use centering device and corresponding adapters with rims for
centering or precisely machined center bore.
10
- Use universal clamping device for closed rims or for bolt-
centered rims. For these clamping devices, various adapters
are available.
! Before mounting the clamping device, the main shaft cone
and the internal cone of the clamping device must be cleaned.
The wheel clamping device must be placed upon the shaft in
such a way that the recess in the clamping device and the
fillister-head screw head at the shaft mesh with each other.
Then, torque the clamping device with the fixing screw.
5.5.1
A foot clamp found on the bottom right corner of the cabinet is
used to operate the pneumatic quick span assembly (see section
3; 32). A wheel can be clamped or unclamped by one press of the
foot pedal. In order to clamp a wheel, press the foot pedal once
and the grooved shaft moves outwards to open the clamp.
Choose a suitable cone for the rim and place on the shaft the same
as the standard clamping means. Place the wheel onto the main
shaft and holding with the left hand so that the wheel is as close
to the left flange as possible and slide the quick clamp, (which has
an indicator plug incorporated at the front) on with the right hand
making sure it is held only by the gripping ring. (Careful, do not
hold the clamp anywhere else, danger of trapping fingers)
