Electrode welding process

Connecting the electrode cable
 Connect the electrode cable to the minus 3 or plus 6
socket and secure the cable by turning it to the right.
Heed the electrode manufacturer's instruc-

tions.
Connecting the ground cable
 Connect the ground cable to the free minus 3 or plus
6 socket and secure the cable by turning it to the right.
Fix the ground clamp

Connecting the ground cable - Correct!
 Mount the ground clamp in the immediate vicinity of
the welding point such that the welding current can-
not find its own way via machine components, ball
bearings or electrical circuits.
 Connect the ground clamp firmly to the welding
bench or the workpiece.

Connecting the ground cable - Incorrect!
 Do not place the ground clamp on the welding ma-
chine or the gas cylinder; otherwise the welding cur-
rent will be carried via the protective conductors and
it will destroy these.

Connect the power supply
The machine is suitable for operation on the mains sup-
ply or on a current generator.
 Plug the mains plug into the appropriate socket.
The mains voltage and tolerance as well as

Connecting the torch
 Connect the torch to the socket 3 and secure it by
turning it to the right.
 Connect the torch's gas line to the gas connection 5.
 Plug the connector of the torch control cable into the
torch switch socket 4.
Inserting the electrode

 Unscrew the clamping cap 61.
 Pull out the electrode 60 out of the collet 62.
 Grind the electrode 60.
 Slide the electrode into 60 the collet 62.
 Insert the electrode 60 into the torch and screw the
clamping cap down 61 tight.

Danger due to electric shock!
If function HF-ignition (31) is selected,
a high ignition voltage is present at the
torch.
Never touch the welding electrode or
parts conducting welding current when
the device is switched on.
Only the control cable of a torch may be
connected to the torch switch socket 4.
