OPENING THE PACKAGING
1. Tear the hermetically
sealed bag at the desig-
nated tear notch locat-
ed at the top of the bag.
2. Secure excess hair by using a hairtie (provided on the
outside of the bag). This will help to eliminate the
potential of long hair interfering with neck seal.
3. Pull the Universal Safe
Escape Respirator
assembly from the
sealed bag. Remove the
wrapping tissue, and if
still attached, remove
the foam canister guard
from the end of canister.
DONNING INSTRUCTIONS
Do not don this hood in environments where the tem-
perature is below 10°F. Once donned, do not wear it in
temperatures below 0°F. Failure to follow this warning
can result in serious personal injury or death.
Note: Use a buddy for donning if the situation permits.
1. Unfold the Universal
Safe Escape Respirator
and insert both hands
through the neckseal
into the elastic harness.
DONNING
2. With hands expanded,
stretch the neck seal
outward, and pull the
Universal Safe Escape
Respirator over the
head.
Be sure not to place finger nails in a position that
would tear or rip the neck seal while donning. If the
neck seal or hood material becomes torn or damaged
the result may be serious personal injury or death.
If eyewear is worn, be sure to expand the neckseal
outward far enough to clear the eyewear during don-
ning. If the neck seal or hood material becomes torn

or death.
3. Adjust the nosecup on
the face until it is com-
fortably covering both
the nose and mouth.
4. Adjust harness by
grasping the back of
the hood and pulling it
into position so that the
harness cradles the
crown of the head.
