from underside of motor. [If there are plastic
motor blocks installed with the motor screws (Q)
and lock washers (R), discard the plastic motor
blocks.] (Fig. 5)

FAN MOUNTING

1.
Remove pin (V) and clip (W) from motor housing yoke
and loosen set screw.
Insert downrod (A) through canopy (B), canopy cover (N),
scroll arm support (P) and yoke cover (E). [NOTE:
Canopy cover (N) must be turned with the shiny side
toward the motor housing (D)]. Thread wires from motor
housing (D) through downrod (A). (Fig. 1)
*Helpful Hint: Downrod style mounting is best suited for
ceilings 8 ft. (2.44 m) high or higher. For taller ceilings you
may want to use a longer downrod (sold separately) than
the one provided. Angle style mounting is best suited for
angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod is
sometimes necessary to ensure proper blade clearance.
2.
Slip downrod (A) into motor housing yoke, align
holes and re-install pin (V) and clip (W). Tighten
downrod (A) set screws and then tighten nuts. Slide
yoke cover (E) down until it rests on top of motor
housing (D). (Fig. 2)
3.
Depending on the length of downrod (A) you use, you
may need to cut the lead wires back to simplify the
wiring. If you decide to cut back the lead wires, it is
suggested that you do so in the following manner:
Take the lead wires and make sure that you have pulled
them all the way through the top of the downrod (A).
Start at the TOP of the ball on the downrod (A) and
measure 8 in. of lead wire, and then cut the excess wire
off with wire cutters. (Fig. 3)
NOTE: If you do not cut back the lead wires, Steps 3
and 4 are not necessary and you may proceed to
Step 5 instead.
