• Insert the cable in the cable support sleeve.
• Press the cable support sleeve into the cable gland.
• Ensure that any unused cable openings are sealed with filler plugs.
10. For cables that are not pre-assembled, lead the cable through the swivel nut and through the cable gland.
11. Ensure that the amount of cable inserted is of a sufficient length for the selected terminal.
12. Tighten the swivel nut on the cable gland hand-tight. This will secure the cable.
9.2

Connecting the Stranded Wire to the Spring-Cage Terminal

To connect the spring-cage terminals, you can use insulated conductors with solid or stranded wire. If one of the
following requirements is satisfied, you will not need any additional tools.
• You are using insulated conductors with solid wire.
• You are using insulated conductors with stranded wire and pressed-on bootlace ferrule.
The following procedure is only to be used when connecting insulated conductors with stranded wire to spring-cage
terminals:
Procedure:
1. Insert the screwdriver into the clamping contact of the spring-
cage terminal and press downwards. This pretensions the
spring of the terminal.
2. Insert the stripped insulated conductor into the terminal until it
reaches the stop. When doing so, ensure that no insulation is
trapped in the terminal.
