Powering On the System
1.
Press the power switch to power the Generator on. A tone will sound
during the system self-test. If a probe is connected during start-up, a
beep will sound following the tone.
2.
Be sure that the SERFAS Energy Generator and all components are
properly connected. All components are properly connected when the
following are present on the front panel of the SERFAS Energy
Generator:
• Probe indicator is lit
• CUT level window displays a power level between 1 and 11
• Footswitch indicator is lit (if optional Footswitch is used)
Note
If probe is not properly attached, the probe indicator will not be
lit.
Modes of Operation
CUT MODE
1.
Cut level can be adjusted by using either the Up/Down arrow buttons on
the front panel of the Generator, or by using the Plus/Minus pedals on
the footswitch, or by using the Cut Level Control adjustment button on
the probe.
2.
Activation of the Cut mode can be achieved by pressing the yellow pedal
on the Footswitch, or by pressing the yellow button on the Probe.
3.
When Cut mode is activated, the yellow Cut indicator will illuminate
and a higher-pitched tone will sound continuously for the duration of
the activation.
COAG MODE
1.
Power levels for the Coag mode are not adjustable and power settings for
the Coag mode are dependant on the probe style used.
2.
Activation of the Coag mode can be achieved by pressing the blue pedal
on the footswitch, or by pressing the blue button on the Probe.
3.
When Coag mode is activated, the blue Coag indicator will illuminate
and a lower-pitched tone will sound continuously for the duration of the
activation.
Hand Control Adjustment
The ability to use the hand control feature on the probe can be adjusted by using
the Hand Control switch located on the back panel of the Generator. When in the
On position, hand control is enabled. When in the Off position, hand control is
disabled.
