Quick surround sound setup

Automatically calibrating
your listening area (MCACC)
The Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration
(MCACC) system measures the acoustic
characteristics of your listening area, taking
into account ambient noise, speaker size and
distance, and tests for both channel delay and
channel level. After you have set up the
microphone provided with your system, the
receiver uses the information from a series of
test tones to optimize the speaker settings
and equalization for your particular room.
• These test tones can be loud, so take care
that there is no one in the room who will
be startled by the noise.
• Make sure the mic and speakers are not
moved during the MCACC setup.

Try to be as quiet as possible after pressing

of test tones to establish the ambient noise
level.
If the noise level is too high, NOISY! blinks in
the display for five seconds. To exit and check
the noise levels again, press MCACC SETUP
(see the notes regarding ambient noise levels
below) or press ENTER when you're prompted
to GO NEXT?
The system now checks the microphone and
your speaker setup.
If you see an ERR message in the display,
there may be a problem with your mic or the
speaker connections.
Turn off the power, and check the problem
indicated by the ERR message (see below),
then try the auto surround setup again.
• ERR MIC – Check the microphone
connection.
